Sharing & sync
How do I invite friends to a trip?
Open the trip and tap the invite button (or long-press the trip card → Invite friends). Send the iCloud link however you like. When your friend opens it, Qasma asks which person in the trip they are.
My friend can't open the invite link.
Make sure they have Qasma installed and are signed in to iCloud (Settings → [their name]) with iCloud Drive turned on.
Invites are tied to Apple IDs, so the link has to be opened on a device signed in to a different Apple ID than yours.
Changes aren't syncing between devices.
Check Qasma → Settings for the iCloud status. Sync needs an internet connection, iCloud signed in, and enough free iCloud storage.
Sync usually takes a few seconds, sometimes longer on a slow connection. Opening the app again often nudges it along.
How do I stop sharing or leave a trip?
The trip owner can manage or stop sharing from the trip's invite screen. If a friend shared the trip with you, open the trip's ⋯ menu and choose Leave trip.
Expenses & balances
How are balances and payments calculated?
Each person's balance is what they paid minus their share, adjusted for payments already made. All balances in a trip add up to zero.
Qasma then matches the people who owe the most with those who are owed the most, so the group settles up with the fewest payments possible.
Can I use a different currency for an expense?
Yes. When adding an expense, pick its currency and enter the exchange rate. Qasma converts it into the trip currency, which is what balances use.
Does Qasma send money?
No. Qasma only keeps track. Pay each other however you normally do, then tap Settle (or Record payment) so the balances update.
I can't remove a person from a trip.
People who paid for or share in any expense or payment can't be removed, so the numbers stay correct. Edit or delete those entries first.
Qasma Pro
What does Qasma Pro include?
A one-time purchase that unlocks the Insights tab, CSV export and more than 2 active trips you own. Trips friends share with you never count toward the limit.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the same Apple ID, then go to Qasma → Settings → Restore purchases.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
App & data
How do I switch between Arabic and English?
Go to Qasma → Settings → Language, or iOS Settings → Qasma → Language.
Can I export my data?
Use Share summary in the trip's ⋯ menu for a plain-text recap, or Export CSV (Qasma Pro) for a spreadsheet.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a trip from its ⋯ menu — it's removed from your devices and your iCloud. See the privacy policy for details.
